Enhancing your space with dazzling light fixtures often seems costly. For renters, restrictions on wall light placement due to wiring or drilling can be an issue. However, some creators have tackled this by crafting budget-friendly wall lights that appear just as luxurious as high-end retail versions. Using simple materials from Dollar Tree, a Tiktoker creatively DIYed a magnificent circular wall light with glittering beads cascading down the center. By using a hula hoop, small wooden boxes, and some hanging beads, you can design a stunning wall light fixture that serves as a luxurious statement piece in your home.
Now, you might question if creating a wall light using Dollar Tree supplies is worth it. After all, there are some unusual projects out there, like transforming a pool noodle into a wall sconce. But these budget DIY projects can be a renter-friendly option, offering a surprisingly dazzling look compared to expensive counterparts. So, if you’re ready to embark on a glamorous Dollar Tree DIY project on a budget, here’s a quick guide for assembling the hula hoop wall light.
Spray Paint and LED Lights Make the Difference

🤩 This DIY is soooo pretty! Hey-hey L❤️VES. You all know that I love making anything that lights up 🤭🤭. ▪️I started out with a hula-hoop (from the Dollar Tree) ▪️I opened it so that I could add 2 mini wooden trays (from the Dollar Tree) ▪️I got glued the trays in place and painted everything black. ▪️I needed to hang acrylic gems, so I used small 3M Cable Hooks. I stuck them to the underside of the top tray. ▪️I added more of the 3M Hooks on the bottom tray. This way I could “zig-zag” battery operated fairy lights from the top and bottom (in between the acrylic gems). I think this turned out so 😍 very. ✨✨✨You could always swap out the acrylic gems for vines 🍃🍃🍃 #diy #diylights #dollartreediy #diyideas #crafts #crafty #diycrafts #diydecoration #diyhomedecor #diydecor #homedecorlovers #diylover #craftymom

Start by visiting your local Dollar Tree to gather a hula hoop, two small wooden boxes with handle holes, adhesive clips, clear beaded strands, LED fairy lights, spray paint, and hot glue. Begin by removing the tape on the hula hoop to separate it. Slide the hoop through the box holes, positioning the boxes opposite each other along the hoop. Reattach the hoop so the seam aligns with one box, enabling you to conceal the seam later. Hot glue the hoop to the boxes to keep them secure when hung. Spray paint the hoop in your desired color.
Next, take the adhesive clips and attach the beaded strands before adhering them to the upper box. The beads should hang down into the lower box, creating a cascading effect. Then, use more adhesive clips to attach LED fairy lights to the upper and lower boxes, weaving them through the beads. Alternatively, attach a single adhesive LED light to the upper box. Finally, hang the setup on your wall and switch it on to enjoy your creation. Choose the best location in your living room for wall lights or use it as a focal point in another area.
